The Reason Why High-Speed Rail Won't Help Us

Politicians love to promote large-scale transit projects, and the Obama administration is no exception.

The president's "Livability Initiative" strives to ensure that "transportation goals are met while simultaneously protecting the environment, promoting equitable development, and helping to address the challenges of climate change." But as Robert Poole, director of transportation policy at Reason Foundation, and Adrian Moore, vice president of research at Reason Foundation, explain, the "Livability Agenda" largely consists of trying to push people out of their cars and onto trains and out of the suburbs and into cities.

Poole and Moore dismantle the idea that a centralized, national transit system will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create a more "livable" future. There is, they demonstrate, no way such a system will ever be economically viable or able to actually meets its ridership goals.

Approximately 45 minutes.

Broadway Vs. The Radio

Wild 94.1 has recently created a contest where unsigned artists have a chance to win a beat by the Nasty Beatmakers.  In a turn of events,  Broadway The Lyricist decided to submit a song which speaks on the the actual draft and the flaws behind it. This track was laid over Drake's "Light Up" song, which has been heard across the nation in only three days of its actual recording. "I feel like Martin Luther and his 95 thesis... I really didn't think it was going to be heard like this. I was just stating my opinion. I have no problem with upcoming artist who have the talent to continue, but my thing is that radio personalities and other powers that be are not being held responsible for their actions. This is my Protestant Reformation." With references like this, it clearly shows that Broadway is not your typical rapper. The Tampa scene is  going to make room for its main attraction. We reached out to Wild 94.1 and they claimed that Broadway did not submit anything for the contest but they will be looking out and making sure they don't overlook anybody the next time.  Stay tuned for the latest. Make sure to follow @HipHopLBRTRN, @OKShow & @TheRealBTL to keep yourself posted.

They Did it Again

51-qfHY87wL._SS500_

The Roots have another album out! How I Got Over is the first Roots album that I am officially 100% for in a long time. This is what you call an album cot damn it. Tracks 1 through 5 are mixed so well it feels like its one complete song. The featured artists seem like if they are part of the group. From veterans like Dice Raw to John Legend to new cats like Blu and a few other heads I never heard of, this album was well put together. Also the content is straight up positive. I can make any one of these tracks as my wake up song, easy. Phrenology, Game Theory & Rising Down were good albums but if you came up with The Roots you know that theres nothing like Illadelphalflife, Do You Want More & Things Fall Apart and this new addition fits very well. Buy the whole album, for $8 you can't do any better, trust me.
